Holiday time at FVHS

Several fundraisers hosted by humane society to help local animals

The Fraser Valley Humane Society is offering locals the chance to start their holiday shopping early and help support the shelter.

A silent auction, featuring everything from candleholders to gift certificates to a multi-level cat lounger is available to bid on. All the proceeds from the event help benefit the cats in care at the society.

Bidding kicked off earlier this month and runs till Dec. 6 at midnight. To check out all the items, visit fraservalleyhumanesociety.com/auctions. Bids can be made through registering on the FVHS website, or through your Facebook account.

The silent auction is one of many events upcoming at the FVHS. A bake sale at the Prospera Credit Union in Mission occurs on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bakers are needed for the event, and those able to help out can call 604-820-2977 for more information.

Later in December, Santa Paws is coming to town. Pets and their owners have the opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus on Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Allstars K9 Training Centre in Mission, and on Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oly's Pet Connection in Abbotsford. There is a minimum $5 donation for the photo.

All proceeds from the bake sale and Santa Paws pictures help benefit the animals at FVHS.
