A new sofa has been added to the end-of-life room at Cottage and Worthington Pavilion, thanks to a donation from Fraser Valley Health Care
Foundation (FVHCF).

The sofa offers a comfortable space for families and loved ones to grieve and support each other during a difficult time.

The sofa, carefully selected for its comfort and functionality, will allow family members to remain close to their loved ones during their final moments, offering a place to rest, reflect and find solace, says Dr. Lakhbir Jassal of the FVHCF.

“Grief affects everyone differently and this new sofa is more than just furniture; it represents a commitment to providing a supportive and comforting environment
for residents and their families during their time of need. Little by little we let go of loss, but never of love," she said.

The staff at Cottage and Worthington expressed their gratitude, stating: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation for their generous funding in making the addition of the sofa sleeper in our end-of-life room at Cottage and Worthington possible. Their support has created a space of comfort and compassion, allowing families to remain close during one of life’s most tender moments."

The FVHCF raises funds for equipment and programs funded or endorsed by Fraser Health in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs.
