An Abbotsford hair salon raised $300 for the Abbotsford hospital.
The Loft Hair Studio & Beauty Bar had more than 40 people attend for a night of pampering at its Queen of Hearts fundraiser on Feb. 27.
Funds will go to the hospital's cardiac care program. Salon owner Kelly Sansalone said that cause is "dear to our hearts."
The fundraiser was the first of five community projects planned for the year.
“We believe we should give back to the community that gives to us," said Sansalone.
The Loft offers a wide range of professional hair, spa, and beauty services. It won an Environmental Leadership Award in 2013 for its innovating practices, which includes recycling the hair that is cut. Staff bring the cut hair to local women’s correctional facilities and processed into oil booms for use by Canadian oil companies.
