Generosity of Abbotsford students shine in food bank fundraiser

Clearbook Elementary students filled 2 large boxes with food donations

A shipment of food is on its way to the Archway Food Bank thanks to the hard work of some students and teachers at Clearbrook Elementary.

One of the many students involved explained that the fundraiser was a school-wide effort to help local people during this holiday season.

"We had to walk to the boxes, through the Clearbrook hallways, to put the food from the kids and staff donating into the boxes," the student said. "Clearbrook students and staff felt proud that we did something to bring holiday cheer to many people in Abbotsford."

In total, two large watermelon boxes were filled up with donations, which were then given to Archway Food Bank.

As a reward for their efforts and desire to help others, the students were given some extra recess.
