Garden Gala will support local charities

Event will support six different local groups with dinner, dancing and auction

The Abbotsford Community Foundation hosts an “Evening in the Garden Gala” on Saturday, May 25 at the Ramada Plaza and Conference Centre.

The event, running from 5:30 to 11 p.m., provides an opportunity for six local charities to work together to raise funds to support the services they provide in Abbotsford.

These charities are: Abbotsford Community Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley, CNIB, Fraser Valley Child Development Centre, Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation/Abbotsford Regional Hospital, and The Reach Gallery Museum.

Guests will be welcomed with a traditional mint julep, and then enjoy a three-course gourmet dinner followed by dancing to Abba tunes courtesy of the show band Abra Cadabra.

CBC’s Mark Forsythe will be master of ceremonies, and local philanthropist Dave Holmberg will help him conduct the live auction, in which each charity will offer an experience or item related to the services they provide.

The evening also includes more than 60 silent auction items, including a four-day RV rental, a trip to the Napa Valley, spa treatments, a golf package and ice cream for six months.

All six charities will split the proceeds from the event. For tickets and more information, visit abbotsfordcf.org or call 604-850-3755.
