Thousands of foodies took in the Fraser Valley Food Show at Tradex on Friday and Saturday, tasting samples of some of B.C.’s best gourmet offerings.
The show includes a Gluten Free Living show, with many vendors catering to celiac and gluten intolerant shoppers. Several stages are set up for the show, which runs through to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Several celebrity chefs are on hand, and small stages are set throughout the centre with constant demonstrations.
They include Bob Blummer from the Surreal Gourmet, Chef Dez, Hidekazo Tojo, and even gardener Brian Minter.
Sunday’s show features stage sessions from Dr. Theresa Nicassio, author and barbecue specialist Brian Misko, Chef Jen Peters and Nicole Mackie.
Cheese seminars on Sunday run at noon, 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The Hops stage on Sunday features: beer and food pairing suggestions, how to taste wine like a pro, the art of cocktail making, Belgian beers and BC vs the World in wine.
The butcher showcase stage showcases two sessions from master butcher Dale Herbert, Butchery 101, sausage maker Viktor Kozak and information on lesser known cuts.
