Some local optometrists are joining the World Sight Day Challenge during October.
The public is invited to make a cash donation at Complete EyeCare Optometry (#10-2630 Bourquin Cres.) on the premise that just $5 can provide an eye exam and a pair of glasses to someone in a developing country.
Funds raised from the World Sight Day Challenge will be directed to 35 projects in 23 countries across the world through the Optometry Giving Sight organization.
World Sight Day was on Oct. 15, but donations are accepted for the entire month.
Participating optometrists are Dr. Garth Webb, Dr. Mary Lou Riederer, Dr. James Hargrave, Dr. Joanne Hankey and Dr. Blake Bullock.
