A dinner on Saturday, Oct. 26 will raise funds to create a new therapeutic garden for seniors living at Tabor Village in Abbotsford.

Keynote speaker will be garden expert Brian Minter, who will share his expertise and passion for plants.

The featured performers for the evening are the Heritage Singers.

The event begins at 5 p.m. at Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Rd.

The three-course dinner is by donation (value is $25). The money raised goes toward Tabor Village’s fundraising campaign to create an outdoor garden designed to meet the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the seniors at Tabor Village.

"Opening up new opportunities for horticultural therapy will challenge our assumptions about the way seniors enjoy meaningful activities through exploring new approaches," said Dan Levitt, executive director of Tabor Village.

Minter and Rusty Reimer, president of Rusty Design Service, have designed the garden. Most of the work will be done by volunteers, and most of the material will be donated.
