Free music Saturdays

The Envision Financial Coffee House Concert series continues to fill Saturdays with free music

Nearing a decade of helping showcase local musicians, the Envision Financial Coffee House Concert series continues to fill Saturdays with free music.

With the eighth season just underway, the popular concert series provides opportunities for local artists to perform in a casual atmosphere while music fans experience a wide range of styles, ranging from jazz, blues and folk to country, rock and pop.

Since striking the partnership with the Abbotsford Arts Council, Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union, has contributed $147,000 to help cultivate local artists. The first half of the concert series goes until June 20 and then breaks for July and August, with the second half resuming in September.

On select dates, concert-goers will also have the opportunity to take part in Envision Financial’s signature cause, The Full Cupboard, by bringing non-perishable food or cash donations to concert events.

“The Full Cupboard is designed to raise food, funds and awareness for food banks in our communities,” says Susan Byrom, senior manager of community investment at First West Credit Union. “The great thing about The Full Cupboard is that all food and funds collected in your community will stay in your community.” Since launching in 2013, The Full Cupboard has raised more than $17,000 for food banks in Abbotsford and Mission.
