The Fraser Basin Council’s youth committee holds a workshop in Abbotsford on Friday, June 24.
The session, called Connecting Youth with Their Communities, runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at University of the Fraser Valley’s University House, 33844 King Rd. It is open to those ages 16 to 29.
The purpose of the free event is to increase understanding of the importance of social connectedness and help youth build skills and develop networks as engaged and empowered citizens.
In addition to youth-led discussion and activities, the event includes a networking lunch with adult mentors and leaders from the community, followed by an afternoon field trip to key
points of interest in the community.
