Four Abbotsford schools participate in drumline provincials

Bateman Secondary and MEI Middle tops in their categories

A team from Robert Bateman Secondary took first place in its category at the recent Provincial Drumline Championships.

Four Abbotsford schools participated in the recent Provincial Drumline Championships, and two of them placed first in their categories.

MEI Middle School took top spot in the basic level concert class, and Robert Bateman Secondary placed first in intermediate level marching class.

This was Bateman's first time competing in marching class after winning two consecutive provincial championships in concert class.

The competition, sponsored by the Canadian Drumline Association, was held March 9 at Robert Bateman Secondary.

Also in basic level concert class, Clayburn Middle School was third and Abbotsford Senior Secondary placed fourth.

Other teams competing included AL Fortune Secondary (Enderby), Tamaniwis Secondary (Surrey), and Belmont Secondary (Victoria).
