A book writing contest for kids ages 12 and under will help promote energy conservation.
FortisBC is promoting the contest, which supports literacy as well as conservation. Other community partners include Literacy Matters Abbotsford, Fraser Valley Regional Library, Central Abbotsford Community School, and Abbotsford Early Years Committee.
Contest packages can be picked up at the Clearbrook and Abbotsford Libraries or downloaded from literacymattersabbotsford.com. Drop off finished books at the library by Aug. 14. The winning entry will be announced on Aug. 26, 10 to 11 a.m., at Storytime in the Park at Mill Lake Park.
