Former Member of Parliament Stephen Woodworth will challenge fellow Canadians to speak up in defence of religious freedom and the attacks on our democratic society during a presentation in Abbotsford on Friday, June 3.

Woodworth will speak at noon at Garden Park Tower, 2825 Clearbrook Rd. Lunch can be pre-ordered and is available at 11:30 a.m. for $10.

The free event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Fraser Valley chapter of Canadians for Common Sense. Master of ceremonies for the event is Dr. John Redekop.

Woodworth practised law in Kitchener, Ont. for almost 30 years and served as a Member of Parliament from 2008 to 2015.

He will introduce the upcoming launch of his new Democracy Defence Initiative (DDI), a non-partisan, non-denominational political action committee being formed in response to recent attacks on fundamental freedoms in Canada.

“We have entered a new era in Canada when fundamental freedoms, which our ancestors defended with their lives, are under attack by civil authorities,” he said.

To pre-order lunch, call 604-853-5532, and for information on the event call Judi at 778-385-3845.
