The Abbotsford Police Department and Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters this week to offer the Local Heroes Program.
The program, which ran from Tuesday to Thursday, was open to kids ages seven to 15.
The majority of these children are on the waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister, and this initiative allows them to have positive interactions with adult role models and to participate in a variety of fun activities.
The Abbotsford Police community policing office served as home base for the program but most of the activities took place outdoors in parks and at other locations in the Fraser Valley.
