Abbotsford is blessed with dozens of parks, some among the very best in the Lower Mainland. And although everybody loves Mill Lake Park, Abbotsford has dozens of other parks as well. Some parks you may have never heard of.
So over the next couple weeks, we’ll be running a Final Four-style bracket that pits Abbotsford’s lesser-loved parks against one another. Proclaim your favourite park and see if you’re in the majority. At the end, we’ll set the favourite against Mill Lake and see if its backers can help it knock off the city’s crown jewel.
At the end of the day, hopefully you will find a new park to explore.
We’re going to give residents a couple ways to vote. First, you can vote below and on individual Park Vs. Park pages. Find those all here. We’ll also create polls on Facebook. The results will be tallied separately, depending on where you vote. The winner will be determined by merging the two sets of results together.
For the first round, we’ll be posting two contests each day this week. Results will be tabulated next Monday.
Rotary Stadium/Exhibition Park vs. Berry Park
2. Rotary Stadium and Exhibition Park sits at the centre of Abbotsford’s network of sports-oriented parks. Its track, and athletics facilities are a vital asset to the city. It boasts a flexible clubhouse. There is a BMX track, soccer fields, ball diamonds and a very good playground. The city is even working to provide wi-fi at the park. In short, the park has everything – except a real natural element. MAP
15. Berry Park has a little bit of everything and is a perfect urban park, with a nice tree-lined walking track, a soccer field, ball diamonds and a playground. Can the central Abbotsford residents deliver an upset over Rotary/Exhibition? We are doubtful. MAP.
