Executive Presence in Abbotsford draws 250 guests

Event was held April 30 at Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre

Almost 250 guests attended an event in Abbotsford on April 30 that was titled Executive Presence: The Five Principles of Habit Change for Financial Independence.

The event at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre featured a lineup of female-led exhibitors, including a local winery, a neurosomatic sleep and stress practitioner, a premium fudge maker and a sustainable fashion brand that re-purposes second-hand denim and textiles.

Keynote speaker Robyn Thompson, a financial literacy advocate, discussed her journey from poverty to prosperity. She emphasized the deep psychological influences money has on personal growth and wealth building.

"Sixty-one per cent of women would rather talk about death than money,” she said.

“Habits, not willpower, shape our future. They’re powered by dopamine – the brain’s reward system – creating a loop that keeps us coming back. When we know what we want and what drives us, we can repeat the actions that move us closer to our goals.”

Guests were served a custom-plated lunch, while MC and local media personality Nira Arora provided commentary throughout the afternoon.

Each attendee also received a hand-crafted chocolate treat from Checkers Premium Fudge, a family-owned business.

The event also spotlighted the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation, a local non-profit that supports regional hospitals and health programs, with $1,200 – $5 from each ticket sold – donated to support its mission.

The event was produced by Patricia Driessen – an Abbotsford city councillor and founder of Perfect Sense Events – and supported by co-presenting sponsors Clarity Family Law and Nava Wealth of Raymond James.

“We were excited to welcome a full house again this year,” Driessen said.

“This event is a true community effort – made possible thanks to the commitment of our sponsors, vendors, and service providers. It’s always exciting to see so many people come together, make new connections, and leave feeling inspired.”
