A young girl takes a look through a spotting scope at Eagle Point Community Park on Saturday morning, the first day of the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival. The festival is timed to coincide with the arrival of thousands of bald eagles, which migrate to the Harrison and Fraser River confluence every winter to feed on spawning salmon.

Festival events will run each weekend for the next three weeks in the Harrison Mills area.

This weekend will feature the First Annual Salmon Celebration at Sts'ailes, with artisan demonstrations, dancers, a presentation and more chances to view the eagles.

From Nov. 29 - Dec. 1, a photo expo will be held at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa, featuring a photo workshop with Graham Osborne on Nov. 30.
