World-renowned speaker Dr. Temple Grandin will be in Abbotsford as part as an educational seminar on Thursday Aug. 29, at the Gateway CRC Church at 2884 Gladys Ave.

The seminar begins at 10 a.m., with Grandin speaking from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and will focus on quality assurance in food production and animal welfare.

Grandin is currently a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. She is well-known for overcoming personal struggles with autism and being an advocate for animal welfare in the food animal industry. She is the author of the books Animals in Translation and Animals Make Us Human, which have garnered critical acclaim.
