‘Cross Walk’ held to remind people of ‘the true reason for the season’

Annual event led by minister to mark Good Friday

Approximately two dozen Christians participated in the 14th annual “Cross Walk” down North Parallel Road in Abbotsford today.

Ordained minister Bob Maraniuk, of Above and Beyond Ministries, led the procession while carrying an eight-foot cross.

He said the event was “to help people to be reminded of the true reason for the season… It’s really about Jesus Christ and what he did for us over 2,000 years ago.”

Maraniuk said he has also walked with the cross in South Korea, the U.S. and on a trip from Kelowna to Winnipeg.
