A conference for Christian singles takes place in Abbotsford on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31.
The event, called Awaken Your Potential, is being hosted by Bob and Alice Maryniuk, leaders of Single Focus, a place where Christian singles, 30 years and older, meet to give and receive fellowship.
The group meets in Abbotsford but draws people from Mission, Chilliwack, Langley, Surrey, Burnaby, Maple Ridge and elsewhere.
Single Focus has been operating for four years, gathering every Friday at 7 p.m. at HillCity Church (formerly Abbotsford Christian Assembly) at 3970 Gladwin Rd.
The upcoming conference is aimed at meeting the needs of Christian singles, and topics include: Living Single in a Sex-Saturated World, Relationships and Stinking Thinking, and Dealing with Past Hurts.
Speaker Dennis Franck emphasizes the necessity to become a whole person spiritually, emotionally and relationally.
