With all of the challenges facing Canadian communities nowadays, the Clearbrook Library is trying to bring together passionate voices to figure out how a good future can be preserved for generations to come.
Through a joint effort from the Fraser Valley Regional Library and UBC's Informing Climate Action Team, the library is hosting an event titled "Future Framing", which provides people with a place to brainstorm ideas on how to tackle ongoing issues like climate change.
The group is also interested in learning how people think that their local libraries can better support people in their quest to help their communities.
This comes at a time when Canadians are more worried than ever about climate change, with it being a large topic in this federal election cycle.
According to the research firm Ipsos, 62 per cent of B.C. residents reported feeling like this country needs to do more to combat climate change, making it tied for the second-highest percentage of citizens with this belief in Canada.
While it is free to attend the climate change event, registration is required. The workshop takes place at the Clearbrook Library on Saturday, April 26, from 1:30 to 4 p.m., with more information available at www.fvrl.bc.ca/events/1349.
