The Abbotsford Vineyard Church is hosting its fourth annual fundraiser for Casa de Luz, a children’s centre for families and children at risk in Primo Tapia, Mexico.

The gala event takes place at the Ramada Plaza and Conference Centre (36035 North Parallel Rd.) on Tuesday, May 27.

The Mexican-themed evening includes dinner and dessert, live and silent auctions, and entertainment from Canadian Idol finalist Greg Neufeld.

The hosts for the evening are Jarris and Lia Neufeld.

The silent auction contains more than 100 items, including entertainment, dining, golf and spa packages as well as designer jewelry, handbags, clothing and more.

The live auction offers the chance to win several items, including a seven-night trip to Palm Springs, a weekend getaway to Harrison Hot Springs, and Canucks and BC Lions memorabilia and tickets.

All proceeds go to Casa de Luz Children’s Centre, which currently supports more than 60 impoverished and underprivileged children by providing loving and quality care, nutritious meals, school uniforms, educational support and family counselling.

More information is available at casadeluzmexico.com.

Doors for the gala open at 5:15 p.m. Tickets for the evening are $40 and are available through the Abbotsford Vineyard Church office (604-864-9162) or online at casadeluzmexico.com or abbotsfordvineyard.com.
