Child ID Day at Envision's new Highstreet branch

Event held on Friday, Oct. 25 in partnership with the Abbotsford Police Department.

Envision Financial and the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) are partnering to offer a free Child Identification Day clinic on Friday, Oct. 25.

The event runs from noon to 6 p.m. at Envision Financial’s new Highstreet branch located at unit F120 – 3122 Mt. Lehman Rd.

Volunteers from the APD will be on hand to fingerprint children and provide them with their personalized child ID book. There will also be popcorn, candy and colouring for the children.

Kelly Pater of APD’s community policing said the child ID book provides all the information that police will need should a child go missing. This includes the child’s photo, description, medical information, fingerprints, DNA, and a list of important phone numbers.

“The last thing you need to worry about if your child goes missing is where to find this information, and with the child ID book, it’s all in one place,” Pater said.

The clinic focuses on children 12 years and younger, including infants, and a parent or legal guardian must be present for the child to participate.

None of the child’s personal information will be kept by Envision Financial or the Abbotsford Police.
