Character Canada conference planned for Abbotsford

The national event is slated to take place in October 2014.

A sub-committee of the Abbotsford City of Character Society has announced that the first National Conference on Character will take place in the community in October 2014.

The conference will be held Oct. 16 and 17, with the goals of sharing national stories of successful character initiatives, providing resources to attendees on how to start a character movement in their community, and establishing a Character Canada board of directors.

The location in Abbotsford for the conference will be announced at a later date.

The Character Canada Planning Committee is currently seeking groups and individuals to present workshops at the conference.

The Abbotsford City of Character is made up of a group of citizens  committed to promoting good character for the betterment of society.

The character council meets five times a year, and the elected board of directors meets weekly.
