Satwinder Bains, director of the Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley, is the visiting speaker for the Mennonite Faith and Learning Society (MFLS) annual lecture series on March 13.

MFLS, along with the centre, is a partner in the peace and conflict studies program which has just begun at UFV in 2015.

Bains has extensive experience as an instructor, researcher, community educator and consultant in the areas of Indo-Canadian studies.

The topic for the lecture is building unity in the midst of diversity.

The event is at 7 p.m. at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church gymnasium (3471 Clearbrook Rd.). Those who plan to attend are encouraged to phone 604-855-7444 or 604-850-8475. Light refreshments will be served.
