Black History Month brings black music, art, and more to Abbotsford

Abbotsford is hosting a Black History Month event on Feb. 8 to celebrate black music, art, dance, and other forms of culture.

February ushers in Black History Month, and with it, countless events celebrating black culture in every major city throughout Canada, including right here in Abbotsford.

On Feb. 8, the City of Abbotsford's Culture City program series will host an evening of black cultural performances in partnership with the Fraser Valley Heritage Elevation Society.

Throughout the course of two hours, there will be various forms of black music, art, dance, spoken word, interactive arts and crafts, and much more on display for the audience to enjoy.

Attending the event is free for people of all ages and doesn't require any registration. 

The festivities take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 8.
