Abbotsforward is hosting a “big ideas fair” as part of the update of Abbotsford’s official community plan.

Council recently endorsed the seven big ideas behind the update to the city’s plan, which is intended to guide decision-making on growth and development.

The event on June 12 and 13 in Historic Downtown Abbotsford is intended to be a check-in with residents to ensure city staff heard them correctly.

The event will provide an opportunity for residents to discover the seven big ideas, read suggestions made by residents during the engagement period, chat with city planners and watch the video from the Abbotsforward Thinking speaker event.

Interactive displays will show the different engagement activities, results from the online survey, the seven big ideas and general approaches to growth for Abbotsford’s future.

The event will be held at 2617 Montrose Ave. (formerly Agape Bridal) on Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
