The Heart and Stroke Big Bike returned to Abbotsford this week, raising funds in support of heart disease and stroke research.
Ten teams helped raise about $50,000 in Abbotsford for the Heart and Stroke Foundation as they pedaled a 30-person bike through city streets.
The riders committed to raising at least $50 each.
This year's event took place Tuesday and Wednesday, with teams leaving from the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre parking lot.
Participating teams were from the Salvation Army, Community Living BC, Cascade/Conair Aerospace, the City of Abbotsford, The Club Health and Wellness for Women, Mission City Cruzers, Sun Life Financial, Correctional Service of Canada, Abbotsford Works and Marie's Might Marauders.
The "Big Heart Champions" ride, featuring the top fundraisers in the area, will close the event at 6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday).
