Bethesda won the 2024 Trees of Hope campaign.

The public has spoken and the best-looking Christmas tree in this year's Trees of Hope campaign belongs to Bethesda.

The winner of this annual fundraiser was recently announced and it was the Abbotsford-based non-profit Bethesda who took the crown.

The Trees of Hope campaign utilizes festively decorated trees to help raise money to support the Abbotsford Police Foundation and its various programs.

Hosted at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre, this year's event included 20 local groups and 18 themed trees, with the public getting to vote on which one was their favourite.

It was Bethesda's snowman-themed tree that emerged as the top choice, which is a title that the non-profit said it was thrilled to receive.

Bethesda is a local faith-based group that provides a variety of support services to people with "diverse abilities".

Thanks to this annual collaboration with local businesses and groups, the Abbotsford Police Foundation was able to collect a significant amount of funding, explained marketing committee chair Jessica Levesque.

"We raised a total of $10,000 with the support of those groups that go towards funding the various programs, including those mentioned on our website, and several others," Levesque said.

The Trees of Hope is just one of several major fundraising projects that the Abbotsford Police Foundation hosts each year, with the group recently announcing a fundraising goal of $350,000 for 2025.
