Baha'i community hosts film showing

To Light a Candle will be shown on Thursday, Feb. 26 at The Reach in Abbotsford

The Baha’i community in Abbotsford hosts a special showing of the film To Light a Candle on Thursday, Feb. 26.

The showing takes place at 7 p.m. at The Reach Gallery Museum, 32388 Veterans Way.

To Light a Candle depicts the plight in Iran of the Baha’i people, a religious minority that builds solidarity, resilience and pride through its passion for education.

A panel discussion follows the showing and includes former Baha’i Institute for Higher Education (BIHE) student Neda, BIHE instructor Ian Kluge and Dr. Jacqueline Nolte, dean of arts at University of the Fraser Valley.

Documentary filmmaker Dr. Michael Dayan is also tentatively slated to be part of the panel.
