Archway Community Services raised $101,500 for local community programs at its recent sixth annual charity golf tournament.

The Archway Golf Tournament, presented by Sutton Group-West Coast Realty Abbotsford, was held Tuesday, June 20 at Ledgeview Golf and Country Club.

A record 144 golfers at the sold-out tournament enjoyed lunch, a friendly competition of golf and a dinner banquet. Several Archway programs were featured on the course, allowing golfers the chance to see the breadth of programs offered for people from all walks of life.

“Being able to hit the six-figure mark in our sixth year feels like it was meant to be,” said Steve Carlton, Archway board president and golf committee chair.

“These funds will have a huge impact on the types of services we can provide for youth, seniors, families, newcomers and more. Support from sponsors, partners and community members was pivotal to achieving this milestone.”

Programs supported by the fundraiser include Meals on Wheels, Foundry, Family Centre, Refugee Resettlement and more.

An on-the-hole fundraiser raised $5,000 specifically for In It Together, an anti-gang program aimed at disrupting the flow of young people into organized crime.

“We’re so thankful to our community for supporting us in so many different ways,” said Jennifer Willford , Archway manager of philanthropy. “Donations received at this event help fill the gaps for existing programs and allow us to meet needs as they arise.”

The funds and support came from over 50 sponsors, partners and donors, plus an online auction and 50/50 raffle.

The 2022 tournament raised $75,000. Since its inception, the tournament has raised more than $400,000 for Archway programs and services.
