The Abbotsford-Mission Alpen Club presented certificates of appreciation to 33 long-time members at a dinner and dance on April 6 at the Abbotsford Arts Centre.

The certificates were presented for 30 and 35 years of membership.

Many invited VIP’s also enjoyed the evening, which included dancing to the Al Pichler Band from Vancouver.

The club was founded in 1975, followed by a choir in 1982.

The group hosts several public events each year, including a dance in May, a summer picnic, Oktoberfest, a New Year’s Eve dance, a big band dance, and a monthly coffee house.

The group, which currently has about 130 members, also takes several bus trips each year. Trips planned this year include La Conner, Leavenworth, the Rocky Mountain Tour, Seattle, and a paddle wheeler trip to Steveston.
