The 11th annual Walk for Lysa takes place in Abbotsford on Sunday, April 7 to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
The 5 km fun run begins at 2 p.m. (registration is at 1 p.m.) at Mill Lake Park on Emerson Street.
The event is named for Lysa Erin Terpstra of Abbotsford who was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at the age of 18 months.
She died on July 8, 2002 at the age of 19 after a virus left her with a weakened heart, contributing to a stroke.
