The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is asking Abbotsford residents to participate in a social media campaign to show support for people affected by Alzheimer disease.

Residents are encouraged to make a donation to the society and also use the hashtag #InItForAlz.

“It’s about making dementia not just someone else’s problem but everyone’s concern,” says Cyndi McLeod, the society's regional education and support coordinator for Abbotsford and Mission region.

“Dementia should be cause that we can all rally around because we embrace people living with the disease.”

January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.

“(It’s) an opportunity to learn more about how we can support people in our community who are living with the disease,” said Health Minister Terry Lake.
