The Abbotsford Community Services Christmas dinner drew over 200 guests, the majority of them children.

Sponsored by the Hands Up Committee, the fifth annual event brought together immigrant families in Abbotsford in a celebration of Canadian Christmas culture, explained settlement program supervisor Donna Lo. It was also a rare opportunity for lower income families to come together for a dinner.

"We thought if we created a venue, then they can meet other immigrant families and create a network," said Lo.

All children under 12 years of age received a gift from Santa.
