The annual Step Up 4 Cardiac Health fundraiser normally held at Abbotsford Centre is taking place virtually this year.
The event in support of the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) is held Saturday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. and is presented by Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service and Innovative Fitness (IF).
It involves an hour-long virutal workout, suitable for all fitness types and ages, with IF coach Kalena Morton. Participants collect pledges in support of the FVHCF.
The funds raised go towards the purchase of eight telemetry packs for Abbotsford Regional Hospital. The packs are a portable heart monitor that is worn around the neck or waist or in the pocket of a hospital gown and can also be used for an extended period at home to track heart rhythm problems.
Each participant receives a swag bag, including the “Gift of Health” from Innovative Fitness: one complimentary exercise session that can be used for IF virtual training or in person at participating IF locations.
Registration is $25, with a $75 fundraising commitment or participants can pay $100 and get a $75 tax receipt.
