The Abbotsford-Sumas Rotary Club has announced its 2013/2014 board of directors.

The Abbotsford-Sumas Rotary Club has announced its 2013/2014 board of directors which includes: President Kim Hissink; President Elect Dorothy Van der Ree; President Elect Nominee Mike Adkins; Secretary Carrie Pratt; Treasurer Sandy Watson; and Directors Tom McMillan, Dan Bue, Dorothy Van der Ree, Douglas Dunn and Cheryl Klassen.

The club is one of 32,000 clubs worldwide with over 1,200,000 members in 200 countries and territories. Members benefit from professional friendships while engaged in service projects and programs that enrich communities locally and globally, fulfilling Rotary's mission of Service Above Self.

Locally, the Abbotsford-Sumas Rotary Club is also known as the Strawberry Club.  Proceeds from the annual strawberry sale fundraiser and other events like the St. Paddy's Day Dance support service projects in our own community and internationally.  Abbotsford residents may be familiar with the nautical theme playground at John Mahoney Park as well as the Welcome to Abbotsford sign on Sumas Way - both of which are projects of our club.

Anyone interested in becoming a member or learning more about Rotary is welcome and invited to join us Wednesday mornings at 7am at the Salvation Army Cascade Community Centre (35190 Delair Road).
