Three Abbotsford students took home prizes at the Canada-Wide Science Fair – the highest level of science fair competition in Canada – in Lethbridge, Alta on May 16.
Baneet Braich, a Grade 8 student from Abbotsford Middle school, took home a silver medal and $2,300 in scholarships for her project "Asbestos in Swift Creek."
Gurmeen Banipal and Charanpreet Mahal, Grade 10 students from Dasmesh Punjabi School, took home a bronze medal and $2,100 in scholarships to share for their project "Sensing the Way."
Over 1,000 student finalists, delegates and judges from across Canada participated in the 52nd annual event, with 73 participants from B.C. and the Yukon.
