Abbotsford students capture 27 medals at regional skills competition

Event held Thursday in Chilliwack as a precursor to the provincial skills contest in April

Abbotsford Senior Secondary student Erica Johnson was among the locals competing at the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Skills Competition last Thursday in Chilliwack. She won a gold medal in culinary arts.

It was a record-breaking year for Abbotsford school district students at this year's Upper Fraser Valley Regional Skills Competition.

Approximately 90 Abbotsford students participated at the event, held Thursday at UFV’s Trade and Technology Centre in Chilliwack, and brought home 27 medals – 15 golds, seven silvers and five bronzes.

All gold-medal winners now move on to the provincial skills competition on April 13 at Tradex in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford medal results were as follows:

2D Animation
