An Abbotsford student’s comic strip has won a national contest that will bring her school a prize of $3,000.

Harsimran Johal, a Grade 8 student at Dasmesh Punjabi School, won the Telus Wise footprint comic contest, which received 400 entries from kids across Canada ages 8 to 18.

The comic strips were based on four digital literacy scenarios and the winner was determined by an online vote.

Johal’s comic was called Friends Forever. She will receive $500 in addition to the $3,000 that will go to her school’s digital literacy program.  A Telus executive will present the cheque to Johal next week.
