Abbotsford resident earns Student Leading Change scholarship

Sukhi Brar recognized for ‘personal drive and commitment’

Sukhi Brar of Abbotsford is a 2018 winner of RBC’s “Student Leading Change” scholarship.

She is one of 15 students awarded $10,000 towards their post-secondary tuition for their personal drive and commitment to making the world a better place.

She helped develop and implement a “Prevention, Education, and Response to Sexualized Violence” policy at University of the Fraser Valley and is a strong advocate of sexual assault survivors.

Brar is also on the board of two non-profit organizations and is committed to employing this approach to leading change in women’s activism in her community.

She is currently a bachelor of arts student in adult education at UFV and will return in the fall.

RBC’s Student Leading Change Scholarship provides $150,000 in scholarships to 15 of Canada’s most civic-minded students in high school, college and university.
