The cenotaph at Thunderbird Memorial Square in Abbotsford is currently behind fencing, which will be removed for the Remembrance Day ceremony.

Residents in Abbotsford are reminded that Remembrance Day services on Monday, Nov. 11 are being affected by the encampment outside of city hall.

This year’s service at Thunderbird Memorial Square – which the encampment borders – will be restricted to those marching in the parade, veterans and dignitaries who will be laying wreaths.

The event will be live-streamed online on Monday, Nov. 11 through the city’s YouTube channel, starting at 10 a.m. with the parade and ceremony, followed by a fly past at 11 a.m.

The live-steam of the ceremony can also be watched in person at Rotary Stadium, 32470 Haida Drive.

Following the service, the public is invited to the Abbotsford Legion branch (2513 West Railway St.) for light refreshments.

A separate Remembrance Day service will be held in person at the Army Navy and Air Force Veterans cenotaph at 30346 McNeil Ave. in Mt. Lehman at 10:30 a.m. followed by a light luncheon and refreshments.
