Abbotsford Police Challenge Run offers two routes

The 21st annual event takes place Saturday, June 9 with a 10 km challenge and 5 km fun run.

The 21st annual Abbotsford Police Challenge Run takes place on Saturday, June 9.

The event features two routes – a 10 km challenge and a 5 km fun run – and takes place at Civic Plaza, adjacent to the Abbotsford Police Department at 2828 Justice Way.

Medals will be awarded to the top male and female runner in each category. Additional awards will go to the top corporate registration, best costume, and the top elementary, middle and high schools.

A warm-up led by Apollo Athletic Club begins at 8:30 a.m. The 10 km starts at 9 a.m., followed by the 5 km event at 9:05 a.m.

Registration can be done online at abbypd.ca/Challenge-Run, in person at Peninsula Runners (#3 – 1707 Salton Rd.) or at the event on race day from 7 to 8:30 a.m.

The event supports the Special Olympics of BC.
