This year's Abbotsford Oktoberfest went brought over 230 guests together to drink beer and wine, eat a German-inspired standup meal, particiapte in a raffle and listen to live oompah accordion music until 1 a.m.
The event's purpose wasn't solely for the fun of it, though, as it raised $28,513 for the BC Cancer Foundation's Personalized Onco-Genomics Program.
The event, which rocked until 1 a.m. the night of Sept. 30 at the Phoenix Ballroom, was presented by Canadian Western Bank and the Esposito Group.
Paul Esposito Jr., an organizer with the Esposito Group, called the evening "a huge success" and said plans for next year's iteration were already underway.
