The chance to win fortune, fame and bragging rights has returned with The Intern 2.

The chance to win fortune, fame and bragging rights has returned with The Intern 2.

The biggest contest hosted by the Abbotsford News is about to kick into high gear.

All that’s needed is a selection of students willing to put in the hours and determination it takes to win $5,000 and a summer internship with the marketing department of the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.

The contest will see 20 UFV students placed into teams of two. The 10 teams will be hooked up with a local business sponsor, for whom they will produce a commercial, marketing plan and an advertisement targeting the 18- to 25-year-old demographic. There will be a few other twists and tasks along the way.

Voting will take place throughout the contest. In week four, the bottom seven teams will be eliminated.

When the top three teams are announced, the six remaining contestants will continue on as individuals, with only one winning the title of The Intern 2011.

To be eligible, you need to be a student at UFV and 19 years old or older.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, May 4 at 5 p.m.

To enter, pick up an application at the Abbotsford News building,  34375 Gladys Ave., or print one from the UFV website or the Abbotsford News Facebook site at Facebook.com/myabbynews.

The contest begins on May 9.
