As the most romantic day of the year fast approaches, the Abbotsford Community Library is hoping to encourage people to love more than just books with a series of free Valentine's Day-themed events.
First up is the Valentine's Party on Wednesday, Feb. 12, which involves a wide variety of entertainment for people of all ages.
This party will include a heart-filled photobooth, a crafting area, plenty of tasty treats, and an assortment of games. Attendees are encouraged to wear either red or pink to show their enthusiasm, with the festivities taking place from 3 to 3:45 p.m.
The following day will be a celebration for those not as eager to be surrounded by all the lovey dovey stuff that typically accompanies Valentine's Day.
This Sour Hearts Social will bring together people for an afternoon of broken heart sugar cookie decorating, snacking, and origami cookie, with each attendee also able to pick up their themed button to show off their passion for all things unromantic.
The anti-Valentine's Day celebration takes place from 2:15 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
To start the weekend, the library is bringing in a collection of lovable animals from West Coast Exotics, giving people a chance to get up close to all kinds of reptiles.
The animals will be at the library from 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.
