The Abbotsford branch of the Royal Canadian Legion recently raised $2,500 at a barbecue hosted for the Military Police National Motorcycle Relay travelling across Canada collecting donations for the Military Police Fund for Blind Children.

The fund was founded in 1957 and specializes in assisting visually impaired children up to the age of 21.

Abbotsford legion president Heinz Kempf presented the donated funds to Lamont French, the leader of the motorcycle group. An additional $250 cheque was presented from the president of the ladies auxiliary, Jacquie Viceroy.
