The Abbotsford Hospice Society (AHS) is hoping to raise $350,000 during its December Challenge.
The event involves AHS challenging 10,000 supporters to donate $35 each during the month, in honour of the organization’s 35th year.
Since 1986, the AHS has been supporting those living with life-limiting illnesses, those at end-of-life, their families and caregivers and those who are grieving the death of a loved one.
The organization also operates Holmberg House, Abbotsford’s first free-standing adult hospice located adjacent to Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
The 30,000-sq.ft., 10-bed facility provides end-of-life care to adults as young as 19 and also accommodates grief support groups, volunteer training, education seminars and one-on-one support services.
