Abbotsford’s Green Fighter Nicole Bradley asked customers at Kin’s Farm Market for their healthy living goals on Saturday.

Bradley set up a booth at Kin's Farm Market on Trethewey and South Fraser as part of her second challenge in the 13-week contest. The contest features weekly challenges to encourage competitors to adopt healthier lifestyles while raising money for cancer research.

Bradley spent Saturday distributing literature on cancer prevention, handing out samples and collecting "one thing" post-it notes from customers, pledging one thing they can do to improve their health. Bradley was helped by her little sister from the Big Sisters program, Olivia.

Customers posted their goals, which included eating better, exercising more and quitting smoking.

As the competitor for Abbotsford, Bradley is up against 12 other contestants from around the Lower Mainland. Each week, they will take part in a challenge – from creating recipes to making an inspirational video – for a chance to win weekly prizes. The contestant who shows the greatest improvement in health at the end of the 13 weeks will win a cruise.

Bradley’s next challenge will be to create an entirely green meal for St. Patrick’s Day. The most creative recipes will win the challenge.

Bradley is eager to get healthy and raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. Bradley's father lost his arm to cancer at 22. Having turned 22, she decided she wanted to volunteer her time to raising money for cancer research in honour of her father.
