Abbotsford employment office seeks workers to help with flood recovery

Personnel needed for lengthy cleanup, restoration and rebuilding efforts

The Express Employment Professionals office in Abbotsford is looking for workers to help get the local community back on its feet after the catastrophic flooding that hit the community.

Daniel Purdy, Abbotsford franchise owner, said while relief agencies and Canadian Armed Forces personnel provide emergency support, Express is preparing to deploy workers on the ground for the lengthy cleanup, restoration, and rebuilding efforts.

“The devastating floods and landslides have scarred our community,” Purdy said.

“Express matches tradespeople, equipment operators, and office personnel to businesses leading the cleanup, restoration, and rebuilding efforts. Every day, we hire qualified people and provide them hope through employment, at no cost to the job seeker. We’re especially eager to connect with individuals who want to help those affected by this natural disaster.”

Express is gearing up to fill hundreds of forthcoming job openings directly related to the massive weather event. Purdy said that during the unprecedented tight labour market, the need for workers is great and the opportunity for them is even greater.

“Now is the time to get back to work and help our neighbors and communities rebuild,” he said.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the Abbotsford Express office at #102 – 32310 South Fraser Way (across from city hall).

The office serves Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Pitt Meadows, and Maple Ridge.

Applicants can also submit an online application at ExpressPros.com/AbbotsfordBC or call or text 604-746-JOBS (5627).
